Description
British Africa QV-QEII mixed mint and used collection housed in an album with good ranges of part and complete sets, with Basutoland, Bechuanaland etc. Highlights include Cape of Good Hope 4d triangle, 1902-04 KEVII set, Natal, Transvaal 1895 Penny Postage 1d red variety imperf between pair (SG 215c cat £225) Orange Free State 1903-04 KEVII set to 5s and 4d in lower marginal vertical strip of three with centre stamp showing variety ‘IOSTAGE’ for ‘POSTAGE’ (SG 144a cat £1200), South Africa with decent range of sets, 1935 Silver Jubilee set in blocks of four all showing ‘Cleft Skull’ variety, South West Africa with opts and 1931 pictorial set and some officials, KUT and a couple of pages of Malta. Lot also includes album of assorted British West Africa values, sampling of early issues of Israel many with tabs, generally fair to fine condition, a good lot with many useful items.
