DISASTER MAIL: 1933 (14 June) envelope addressed to Birmingham, England franked with 5c (5, with a vertical strip of three) tied by La Paz duplex, bearing three-line boxed 'Correspondence brulee/a bord by paquebot/Cabo S. Antonio' cachet in violet. Envelope reduced at top probably where it was burnt but otherwise fine
Note: The Spanish motor vessel Cabo San Antonio had a fire on board after leaving the Canary Islands. Lloyd's reports that 387 mail bags were destroyed and 212 bags were damaged by seawater.
