The India General Service Medal awarded to Private Thomas Bird, 1st Battalion Cheshire Regiment comprising India General Service Meda 1854-95, two clasps Chin-Lushai 1889-90, Burma 1887-89, (1246 Pte T. Bird Bn. Ches. R.), lightly toned very fine (1)
Thomas Bird, an 18-year-old Metal Noller from Birmingham joined the Cheshire Regiment on the 23rd of October 1884.He Served in Mediterranean, Egypt, Burmah, India and South Africa. He was Discharged Time Expired on the 22nd of October 1907 after 12 Years with The Colours. He is also entitled to a Queen’s South Africa Medal with three clasp, Johannesburg, Cape Colony and Orange Free State.
