Byrne “T” Battery Royal Horse Artillery who Died of Enteric Fever in Johannesburg on the 10th of June 1900 comprising, Queen’s South Africa Medal, 2nd type, ghost dates, three clasps, Relief of Kimberley, Paarderberg, Driefontein, (74782 Gnr. J.J. Byrne, T. Bty. R.H.A.), very fine (1)

John Joseph Byrne, an 18-year-old Butcher from Manchester enlisted into the royal Artillery on the 2nd of September 1889. In 1891 he was Tried by Courts Martial and again June 1893.he married Agnes Robinson on the 9th of October 1897, he served in South Africa from the 19th of December 1899 until he Died of Enteric Fever in Johannesburg on the 10th of June 1900.
