The Boxer Rebellion China War Medal awarded to Stoker George Albert Clarke, Royal Navy who served aboard H.M.S. Alacrity, who was Discharged Dead at Torbay Hospital in 1908, of double pneumonia comprising China War Medal 1900, two clasps, Taku Forts, Relief of Pekin, (G. A. Clarke, Sto. H.M.S. Alacrity.), very fine (1)
One of only 42 men to be awarded this combination of clasps from Alacrity
George Albert Clarke was born at Haggerston, London on the 8th of July 1876, he enlisted for the Royal Navy on the 22nd of January 1896 for a period of 12 years, he stated that he was a Plumber. He re-engaged in January 1908 to complete 22 years but unfortunately died at Torbay Hospital on the 12th of May 1908 of Double Pneumonia
