Description
The General Service Medal, awarded to Bombardier Gordon Raistrick 6th Field Regiment Royal Artillery comprising General Service Medal, 1918-62, GVIR, one clasp Palestine 1945-48, (887641 Bdr. G. Raistrick. R.A.), toned fine (1)
Gordon Raistrick served during World War Two as a Gunner (Driver Operator) with 70 (West Riding) Field Regiment RA (TA). He was Wounded in North Africa on the 17th March 1943. He Was Discharged from the Army on the 28th of August 1946 but re-enlisted to the Artillery on the 30th of August 1946 serving as a Bombardier with 6th Field Regiment in Palestine. He transferred to the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers 48th Field Regiment on the 1st of October 1951.
