1840 1d Mulready Envelope Stereo A178, Forme 4. Used example sent from Aberdeen to Edinburgh, cancelled by ruby Maltese cross. Although comparatively common on the penny black, Rockoff and Jackson record only 4 other examples on the Mulready. The top flap has been opened somewhat untidily but a rare coloured cross, some light staining, cleaning. Spec. ME2vf. Cat £4,000. 2022 Mike Jackson Cert.
