1840 2d Mulready Envelope (Forme 1, Stereo a210). Very fine used example sent on the third day of issue from London to Hampton Court, neatly cancelled by a crisp red MC with a red London octagonal datestamp on reverse for MY.8.1840. Some light soiling nevertheless a wonderful example which opens out perfectly for display and is by far the finer of the two recorded envelopes used on this day. Ex. "Mayflower" 2010 BPA Cert.
