1853 registered outer wrapper from Liverpool to London, bearing 1d red-brown Plate 162 (MG-ML) in a horizontal strip of six, with additional Plate 162 (MF) as a single and a further 1d Plate Plate 168 (IC), (2d postage and 6d registration fee) all clear to good surrounding margins, tied by ‘466’ numerals, and ‘tombstone’ mark in red, backstamped by Liverpool despatch d/s for SP 17 and traces of London arrivals, filing folds and traces of ageing, still very fine usage.
