<p>1840 2d blue, Pl. 1, pair of covers with four margin examples to Edinburgh, one (NC) tied by 1844 type ‘280’ Perth barred numeral and backstamped by Perth Boxed despatch h/s for OC 21 alongside a cds for OCT 24 1845, a very late usage, the other (LC with double letter variety) tied by Greenock distinctive MC and backstamped by red boxed Greenock despatch h/s for AU 10 1841 and a cds for the following day. Both covers with filing folds and the adhesives with a crease, still presentable examples of these rare postmarks. Spec. DS5vd & DS5j,xc, SG 5, £11,500.</p>
