<p>1840 2d, Pl. 1, pair of covers to Edinburgh, one franked by 2d steel blues (3, GI, GK, HB (creased)), each with up to three margins, from Blairgowrie, each tied by black MCs, the right two used by two strikes, and backstamped with Blairgowrie boxed despatch h/s for MY 14 1841 and cds for the following day. The other cover franked by 2d blues (2, TA, TC), both three large margins, from Fettercairn, and tied by blood red MCs, backstamped by Fettercairn boxed h/s for NO 11 and cds for the following day. Filing folds on both, still an attractive pair paying these uncommon rates. SG 5.</p>
