<p>1856 entire to New York, USA, franked by 1847-54 embossed 1s green, with three close to large margins, just cut in at foot, tied by Edinburgh ‘131’ barred numeral roller cancel with ‘5 CENTS’ and ‘PAID’ instructional marks in red alongside, backstamped with a cds for JUN 6 1856 with another d/s on the obverse for the following day. Horizontal filing fold clear of the adhesive and some signs of ageing, still a very presentable example of this adhesive. SG 55, £1,900.</p>
