1840 2d deep full blue, Plate 1, horizontal pair (GF-GG) with close to large margins on entire to Melrose, neatly tied by two strikes of the distinctive Galashiels Maltese Cross in orange-red ink, showing the small inner star and straight ends to the inner cross, and backstamped by Boxed Galashiels h/s for OC 26 1840. Vertical crease clear of the adhesives. A rare cover. SG 4.
