Description
1850 1d red-brown Archer perforation group. Plate 100 unused, traces of gum which are possibly original: six used examples matched with 1854 perforated 1ds (from Alphabet II) to demonstrate the different letters; Plate 100 BC, Plate 100 CD, Plate 95 QD, Plate 98 EI, Plate 94 EC and Plate 99 RI. Also Plate 100 used on cover (filing fold) and some examples of private/unofficial separations, these not guaranteed: one rouletted 11 at sides only, soiled, apparently unused; two rouletted 11½ used; perf 19-20 (imperfections), and a roulette used on piece (RPS Certificate 1971, ‘probably genuine’). Interesting lot, beautifully written up. SG 16b
