1840 1d Mulready envelope (A142) to Edinburgh, cancelled contrary to regulations by two strikes of the Aberfeldy Maltese cross in the experimental black ink, and backstamped by Aberfeldy boxed h/s for OC 25 and additional orange cds for the same date. The Mulready somewhat aged, still a rare use. Spec. ME2.
