AFGANISTAN: 1878-1930 collection on pages including: 1881 2nd Afghan War cover addressed to Ireland franked by ½a blue (die II) and 4a blue-green tied by large rhomboid of bars, backstamped by Kandahar despatch marks with Bombay transit and Gort arrival for AP 25, 1925 Registered cover franked by India KGV 1a chocolate (3) and 2a purple tied by Peshawar cds, with Afghan 20p (2) on reverse, further combination cover bearing KGV 1a and franked by Afghan 30p tied by native seal, 1927 Registered cover franked by KGV 3a, tied by Landikhana cds addressed to France with horizontal strip of three 20p tied by rectangular native seals on reverse, bearing Landikhana postage due mark and rated 6/as in red m/s, 1927 cover to Germany franked by KGV 1a (3) with Afghan 10p (3) tied by oval seals, generally fair to fine condition an interesting lot.
