This sale brings together a broad and well-balanced selection of stamps and covers from around the world, with material to suit collectors at all levels. The early classic issues are very well represented, with a fine range of Bull’s Eyes including complete sets and multiples, such as the clear impression set (lot 2076) and the impressive 90r horizontal pair (lot 2078). These are complemented by an excellent showing of Slanting Figures, as well as Upright and Vertical Numerals. The section is further enhanced by a notable selection of Zeppelin and early airmail material, including rare airmail covers and destination mail (lots 2140–2152), and an appealing range of proofs, essays and specialised accumulations. 1840-60s collection on pages with Bull's Eyes Early Impression used, the 30r and 60r close margins, the 90r fine with good to large margins, Intermediate Impressions set with good to close margins, the 90r with small paper thin, Worn Impression set good to large margins, the 90r part shield cancel, plus a faulty 30r and 60r, Slanting Figures on thin paper duplicated to 600r, the 300r and 600r with one touched margin, Upright black figures duplicated to 600r (3) mostly used with four margins, coloured Numerals including 280r unused with one margin just touched and large margined used, three 480r yellow with good to large margins, also group of perforated issues, unexpertised 300r (2) and 600r (3, one faulty), 280r and 480r unused and used.
