Sale number: 5963 The second sale in the Academic series features a mix of multiples, varieties and some startling rarities. There are a great many specialist items, of interest to the KG VI and single-country collector alike. The lots in these sales represent over forty years of focussed buying in auctions major and minor, and from dealers large and small, including some well-known items that have not been available to the market for decades . The important range of multiples are usually there for a specific reason; imprint or Plate blocks, multiples from identified printings or with varieties, listed and unlisted, with some great rarities such as the Grenada 2½d Plate block, the existence of which will come as a surprise to many. However, there are also plenty of basic stamps and straightforward multiples, reasonably estimated and reserved, to suit all pockets.

1951 3½d brown-purple bottom two rows of sheet showing a paper fold which has affected the selvedge at base, giving Plate 4 clear at the base. &nbsp;Nearly all stamps unmounted o.g., but the block is affected by several foxed spots including the tenth stamp in the top row (R9/2 RP); it would be possible to take out a fully unmounted block comprising R9-10/7-8 LP and 9-10/1 RP which would be unaffected by foxing, but would of course include the crease which caused the Plate number to be so fully visible. &nbsp;SG 247, ASC 253zc, $4000 &nbsp;
