Description
Colonial Die Proofs. 1912 (c.) KGV master die proof in black on glazed card (60 x 92mm) of the DLR small 'Nyasaland’ universal key type, with uncleared surround, name and value tablets and with ‘POSTAGE POSTAGE’ inscription. A very fine and interesting proof.
Footnote
To the best of our knowledge, the only use of this 'POSTAGE POSTAGE' keytype was for a 1½d postal stationery envelope issued by St Lucia in 1936. Unlike the KEVII version which was used for printing dummy stamps, all other occurrences of the 'small Nyasaland' type with KGV portrait had the 'POSTAGE REVENUE' inscription.
