1855 1d Red-brown Pl.194. (Die I, Alphabet II, Wmk. Small Crown, Perf 14). Very fine piece bearing bearing a top left hand corner marginal 1d Red-Brown (SG22, Pl.194) lettered AA showing plate number “194” and part sheet inscription “Price 1d Per Lab”. Tied by a Bradford, Yorks ‘107’ duplex for JA.27.1855. The earliest known date recorded for this issue being JA.20.1855. An attractive and unusual positional piece, a couple tone spots and a diagonal crease just crossing top left corner star. SG22, Spec. C2(1). Cat £300 as a used single without plate number.
