Indian Mutiny Medal 1857-58, two clasps, Lucknow, Delhi awarded to Private W. Menzies 1 European Bengal Fusiliers (W. Menzies. 1st Eurn Bengal Fusrs), lightly toned, very fine.
W. Menzies, confirmed on Roll two clasps Delhi and Lucknow. He is shown in the 1861 Worldwide Army Index, but not in the 1851 or the 1871.
In searching the British Library catalogue for William Menzies, we find this reference: IOR/L/MIL/5/365/3140, dated 1863, no regiment, labelled Soldiers' References

The Regiment served during the Mutiny with great distinction at the siege and capture of Delhi and at Lucknow.
