Description
The Great War Medals awarded to Private James Wright who served with the 2nd Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers and the 1st /4th and 12th (Service) Battalions The Cheshire Regiment who was wounded in action with a “Poisoned Wound” 7th of October 1915, Post War re-joined the Royal Irish Fusiliers comprising 1914-15 Star, (202417 Pte J. Wright. Ches. R.), 1914-1920 British War and Victory Medals, (15473 Pte. J. Wright. Ches. R), very fine (3)
James Wright, a native of Dublin a 23-year-old Packer on enlistment on the 1st of September 1914 who served with the Expeditionary Force in France from the 25th of September 1915 being posted to Egypt on the 4th of March 1916, he was wounded with a “Poisoned Wound” on the 7th of October 1915. He was transferred to the Z Reserve on the 4th of July 1919
