Description
A Coldstream Guards Boer War Pair awarded to Private Arthur Gibson comprising, Queen’s South Africa Medal, 2nd type, ghost dates, 5 clasps, Cape Colony, Driefontein, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Belfast, (1679 Pte A. Gibson. Cldstm: Gds.), King’s South Africa Medal, 2 clasps, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902, (1679 Pte A. Gibson. Coldstream Guards.), both impressed naming, lightly toned very fine (2)
Arthur Gibson attested for the Coldstream Guards at Newcastle on the 4th of June 1898. He was a native of Northumberland and stated he was 18 and a Labourer. He served in Gibraltar before his move to South Africa on the 28th of October 1899. He returned Home on the 21st of July 1902. He served at Home until the 3rd of June 1910 when he was Discharged after 12- years’ Service.
