Description
The Royal Fleet Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, GVR, awarded to Marine George William Parr, Royal Marines and Royal Fleet Reserve who had served in the Dardanelles in 1916 and who was wounded twice on the Western Front in 1918, comprising Royal Fleet reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, (CH19683 (CH. B 2792) G. W. Parr. Marine RFR), edge knocks, scuffed naming, toned fair (1)
George William Bennett was Born on the 1st of June 1896 in Nottingham, he enlisted for the Royal Marines on the 18th of February 1915 stating that he was a Carter. His Papers ste he served with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force in the Dardanelles in December 1915 and served from May 1916 with the B.E.F. in France being wounded twice, Gun Shot Wound left forearm and Gun Shot Wound Buttocks. He served with the Royal Marines 4th of March 1922, Joining the Royal Fleet Reserve on the 5th of March 1922 being finally discharged on the 5th of October 1931. He is entitled to a 1914-15 Star Trio and was awarded the RFR LS&GC on the 29th of May 1930.
